Terms and Conditions for Personal Ledger

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading or using the Personal Ledger app, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and privacy policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the application.

2. Description of Service

Personal Ledger is an offline-first personal finance application designed to help users manage income, expenses, assets, liabilities, budgets, and other financial records. The App provides reporting (PDF/CSV), optional Google Drive backup, biometric protection, and other productivity features.

3. Financial Disclaimer

• Not a Financial Advisor: The app is a record-keeping tool only. It does not provide financial, investment, or legal advice.
• Accuracy of Data: Users are solely responsible for verifying the accuracy of their financial records before making financial, accounting, tax, investment, or legal decisions.
  We are not liable for any financial decisions or losses resulting from the use of this app.

4. Data Ownership and Security

• Your Data, Your Responsibility: All financial records are stored locally on your device or in your personal Google Drive account.
  We do not have access to your financial data.
• Loss of Data: While we provide backup features, we are not responsible for data loss caused by device failure, app uninstallation, or issues with third-party services like Google Drive.
• Security Lock: If you enable the Fingerprint/PIN lock, you are responsible for maintaining the security of your device.
• Exported Files:Reports exported as PDF, CSV, or other supported formats are stored in the location selected by the user. Once exported, users are responsible for protecting, sharing, and deleting those files.

5. Pro Features and Subscriptions

• Payments: Pro features are available via one-time purchases or subscriptions processed through the Google Play Store
• Refunds: Purchases, subscriptions, renewals, cancellations, and refunds are managed through Google Play and are subject to Google's applicable billing policies.
• Ad-Supported Access: Temporary access to Pro features via rewarded ads is subject to availability from the ad provider (AdMob).

6. Third-Party Services

• Google Play Services: Provides essential Android services, app compatibility, security, and core functionality.
• Google Sign-In: Used only for optional authentication when accessing Google Drive backup and restore features.
• Google Drive: Used to securely store and restore optional user backups in the user's own Google Drive App Data folder.
• Firebase Analytics: Helps us understand anonymous app usage and improve features and overall user experience.
• Firebase Crashlytics: Collects crash reports and diagnostic information to help improve app stability and reliability.
• Firebase Cloud Messaging: Used to send optional notifications, including app updates, feature announcements, promotional offers, and important service
• Firebase Remote Config: Allows certain app settings and features to be updated remotely to improve performance and user experience.
• Google AdMob: Displays advertisements in the free version of the App and helps support its ongoing development.

Your use of these third-party services is subject to their respective terms, privacy policies, and applicable agreements.

7. Prohibited Use

Users agree not to:

• everse engineer the app
• modify the APK
• bypass licensing or subscription features
• use the app for unlawful purposes
• interfere with app security or operation

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer of Personal Ledger shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages (including financial loss) arising out of the use or inability to use the app, this includes, but is not limited to, data loss, interrupted service, inaccurate financial records, missed reminders, export failures, backup failures, or third-party service interruptions.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or discontinue any part of the App or related online services at any time without prior notice.
Users may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it.

11. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Bangladesh, without regard to conflict of law principles.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. Your continued use of the app after changes are made constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
