    Welcome to Personal Ledger. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Personal Ledger mobile application ("the App").

    By using this App, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.


  • 2. Data Collection and Storage (Local Data)

    Personal Ledger is designed as an offline-first financial management tool.

    Local Storage: All financial data you enter—including income, expenses, assets, liabilities, and loan details—is stored locally on your device using a secure internal database (Room/SQLite).

    No Server Storage: We do not store your financial data on our servers. We do not have access to your personal financial records.

    Permissions: The App may request storage permission only to export reports (CSV/PDF) or manage backup and restore files.


  • 3. Google Account & Backup (Optional)

    Personal Ledger offers optional backup and restore functionality using your Google account.

    Google Drive Backup: Your data may be stored securely in your Google Drive (App Data folder) when backup is enabled.

    User Control: Backup is fully controlled by the user. You can enable, disable, or delete backups at any time.

    We do not access, read, or share your Google account data.


  • 4. Information Collection and Third-Party Services

    The App itself does not collect or transmit your financial data. However, it may use trusted third-party services:

    Google Play Services: Used for app functionality, updates, and security.

    Google Mobile Ads (AdMob): The App may display advertisements. AdMob may collect certain data (such as device identifiers or cookies) to provide relevant ads.

    We use information only to provide and improve app functionality, including:
    • Managing your financial records
    • Generating reports and summaries
    • Enabling backup and restore
    • Improving user experience

    We do not sell, rent, or share your personal or financial data with third parties.

    We take reasonable steps to protect your data:

    • Data is stored locally on your device
    • Backup data is stored securely in your Google account
    • Biometric lock (Fingerprint/PIN) helps prevent unauthorized access

    However, no method of storage is completely secure. We recommend keeping your device protected and maintaining backups.


  • 7. Data Deletion and User Control

    You have full control over your data:

    • Delete individual transactions anytime
    • Reset or clear all app data
    • Archive old records
    • Delete backups from your Google account

    All actions are fully controlled by the user.


  • 8. Children’s Privacy

    Personal Ledger is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
